Small mushroom with bell-shaped cap, maturing to convex, umbonate form. Cap color varies widely from ochre to brownish yellow to olive tones. Surface dry, sometimes wrinkled, with granules, coating also on stalk. Gills attached. Veil remnants on cap, fragile ring often disintegrates.
