Small mushroom with tall stalk. Bright yellow rounded to egg-shaped cap slimy when young, lined on margin with age; cap becomes flattened with central yellowish depressed center when mature. Pale gills become rusty brown. Yellow-to-white stalk tapering, fragile, scaly or powdery, or sometimes smooth. Partial veil absent. Saprophytic.
Habitat: Groups. Primarily hardwoods.
