“Gateway to a world of natural beauty where learning is fun and nature is the best teacher.”

This statement, written across the top of an informative and attractive brochure, says much about the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and its philosophy. The appeal of the Arboretum lies partly in its diverse offerings. From lawns to ponds to native plants, to gardens—and, above all, to a collection of fine trees—Carrier is a place where a combination of peaceful respite, the serious work of conservation, and the imparting of knowledge are evident in so much of what the Arboretum offers.
