Fomitopsis ochracea  — Fomitopsidaceae


Large perennial polypore. Cap hoof-shaped, surface smooth, zoned in shades of light to dark browns and grays, white at the rounded actively growing edge. Pores tiny, whitish to cream-colored. Saprophytic.
 
 
Habitat:  Usually solitary on dead conifer logs and snags. 

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: Pale brown

Season: Autumn
