Small mushroom. Cap convex, becoming plane with a shallow central depression at maturity; surface dry, with a scattering of minute scales, pinkish-brown. Gills broadly attached, thick, purplish but soon fading to light brown. Stalk slender, equal, less fibrous than other laccarias, orange-brown; with a conspicuous purplish mycelium at the base. Mycorrhizal.
