Hygrophorus chrysodon  — Golden Wax-cap — Hygrophoraceae


Small to medium mushroom. Convex cap, margin inrolled, aging to planar, umbonate, smooth surface, viscid when wet. White with yellow flakes. Stalk whitish with orange granules on a ring. Decurrent gills, separated, white. Veil remains on stalk. Saprophytic.
 
Habitat:
Scattered to large groups, Douglas-fir and Western hemlock forest.

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: White

Season: Autumn
