Old trees, planted more than a hundred years ago on impoverished land, stretch skyward, their robust health a testament to the original owners love of the land and the subsequent care possible in an arboretum setting. Commitment to their preservation and the introduction of new trees and their smaller relatives, planted in a landscape that evolves in response to new ideas, and where the combining of knowledge, art, and the enjoyment of nature are part of the ongoing mission, all contribute to defining the Morris Arboretum.
