Small “inky-cap” mushroom. Oval cap, expanding to bell-shaped or convex, margin curled or frayed, honey or golden, aging paler. Young caps covered with fine granules which easily wash off. Gills attached to free, close, pale becoming brown, black, then deliquescing incompletely. Tall stalk, equal. Saprophytic.
Habitat: Clusters on decaying wood, sometimes nearly buried.
