Psathyrella candolleana  — Pale Brittlestem — Psathyrellaceae


Small to medium mushroom. Fragile conical or convex cap, expanding broadly or sometimes umbonate, smooth or with veil remnants, hygrophanous, not viscid. Cap brown to honey-colored, much paler when mature, with dark center, margin with veil remnants.  Gills attached to free, close, whitish becoming dark brown. Stalk as tall as cap diametecr equal, whitish. Veil white, sometimes leaving fibrils on stalk. Saprophytic.

Habitat: Scattered to gregarious, buried debris, disturbed areas.

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: Dark brown

Season: Summer to Autumn
