Small to large mushroom. Broadly convex cap, inrolled margin when young, maturing to depressed center or funnel-shaped, viscid when wet, zoned, dull orange to bright or brownish, or green, fading with age. Exudes latex, sparse, bright orange to darker. Gills attached to decurrent, orange to tones of yellowish or buff, close. Stalk equal, or tapering towards base, sometimes pitted, colored like cap to paler. Mycorrhizal.
Habitat: Scattered to gregarious or “troops”, beneath conifers.
