Lactarius resimus — Yellow-staining Bearded Milk-Cap — Russulaceae
Small to large mushroom. Convex cap, depressed center, margin raised, becoming funnel-shaped, whitish, sometimes with orangish zones. Cap margin zoned when mature with darker color, viscid, fibrillose, staining green where bruised, exudes white latex. Gills crowded, decurrent, forking near stem, whitish with bruised areas staining dingy yellow to greenish. Stalk white or pinkish-orange, not spotted, maturing orangish, turning greenish where handled. Mycorrhizal.
Habitat: Scattered to gregarious, conifers, also in landscapes under birch.
