Small to large mushroom. Hemispherical cap, flattening or slightly depressed in center with age, yellow-brown, darker at center, veined, viscid, warty, skin separating to ½ distance to center. Gills close, attached, dingy white to creamy, developing darker spots. Stalk equal or broadened at base, longitudinal lines, whitish to brownish at base. Mycorrhizal.
Habitat: Solitary to groups, hardwoods and conifers.
