Small to medium mushroom. Convex or obtuse cap maturing to nearly planar or umbonate, viscid, bright yellow with dark center, with yellow scales that often wear off, margin with veil remnants. Gills attached or notched, yellow, darkening. Tall stalk, equal, sometimes enlarged at base, bright yellow with darker base, yellow scales below veil. Bright yellow veil forming slight ring on stalk. Saprophytic.
Habitat: Solitary or tufted on conifer logs, stumps.
Scent: Not distinctive or slightly fragrant.
